Hi De Hi by Paul Carpenter
7.30 on 16 August 2024 at The Carnegie Rooms, Thetford Norfolk
A stage adaptation of the hugely popular British TV series, which revisits the 1950’s and Maplins Holiday Camp with its host of colourful characters. It’s the start of a new season and founder Joe Maplin announces that he is setting up a camp in the Bahamas and needs female yellowcoats (entertainers) to go and work there. The annual “Miss Yellowcoat” competition will decide who. Imagine the rivalry!
We also have Special guests Jeffery Holland who played Spike in the classic Sitcom and Paul Carpenter who adapted this play who will be doing a Q & A after the show and will be watching the show with you.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo

The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be “Out There,” observes all of Paris revelling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful gypsy, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the gypsies – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.
A sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame an instant classic. Audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.

We are bringing the streets of Paris to Thetford next summer in our telling of the ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’. This is going to be our biggest project so far as Magic Floor and our second musical and we are so excited!
