County Lines – It Finds You

A Magic Floor Productions devised performance to raise awareness of exploitation, grooming and the realities of county lines

At Magic Floor Productions, we are committed to creating theatre that tackles real issues affecting young people and communities. For the past two years, we have been developing and delivering our County Lines Project, a powerful Theatre in Education programme/ CPD designed to raise awareness of exploitation, grooming and the realities of county lines.

What is county lines?

County lines is a form of criminal exploitation where young people are targeted, manipulated and coerced into transporting drugs and money between urban and rural areas. Many are drawn in through grooming, false promises of friendship, protection, status or financial reward, often without fully understanding the risks, the danger involved, or the long-term consequences.

It Finds You

This project was devised in collaboration with local youth groups and young people, including those with lived experience of county lines involvement. Through workshops, conversations and creative development, their voices helped shape an honest and impactful piece of theatre that explores the pressures young people face, the warning signs of exploitation, and the importance of seeking support.

The work is further strengthened by the knowledge and lived professional experience within our team. One of our performers is a retired Norfolk Police officer who previously worked on the drug squad, bringing real insight, authenticity and a deep passion for prevention and education to the project.

Originally funded by Breckland Council, and later supported by Keystone and Breckland Family Hubs, the production has toured schools and community venues across the five Breckland market towns. Each performance is accompanied by discussion and signposting to local support services, helping students, staff and families better understand the risks and how to stay safe.

The project has been widely praised by schools and partners for its relevance, realism and impact.
